Why choose HD Clean

Deep Cleaning in Alaska

Some days your home needs more than a tidy-up. It needs a reset. Deep cleaning is our top-to-bottom deluxe clean, the kind that reaches the spots regular cleaning skips. We hand-wash the baseboards. We wipe down the blinds and the window sills. We get into the corners, the grout lines, and the build-up you stopped noticing a while back. When we leave, your home does not just look clean. It feels clean, all the way down.

This is the right call for a few moments in particular. It makes a great first visit, so we can bring your home up to a baseline before any regular cleaning begins. It is perfect as a seasonal reset, when winter has tracked in more than its share and you want a fresh start. And it is a lifesaver before guests arrive, when you want every room to feel cared for. A deep clean usually runs four to eight hours depending on the size of your home, because the detail work takes time and we do not rush it. One dedicated technician handles most homes, start to finish.

We are HD Clean, Alaska's home cleaning company built on trust. We serve families across Fairbanks and Anchorage, and we treat your home the way we would want ours treated. The same named technician shows up, knows your home, and does the work right. That is the whole idea.

Top-to-BottomThorough Detail

What a deep clean includes

  • Baseboards hand-washed throughout the home, not just dusted
  • Blinds wiped down slat by slat, and window sills cleaned out
  • Light fixtures and ceiling fans dusted and wiped where we can safely reach
  • Switch plates, door knobs, and handles cleaned and disinfected
  • Kitchen counters, backsplash, and cabinet fronts scrubbed
  • Stovetop, range hood, and the grime around burners cleaned
  • Outside of the oven and large appliances wiped down
  • Sinks and faucets scrubbed and polished, hard water spots addressed
  • Bathrooms scrubbed top to bottom: tubs, showers, tile, grout, toilets
  • Mirrors and glass cleaned streak-free
  • Doors, door frames, and trim wiped down
  • Vents, returns, and corner cobwebs cleared
  • Floors vacuumed and mopped, including edges and under reachable furniture
  • Surfaces dusted from high to low, so nothing settles back down

Every home is a little different. If your deep clean needs more attention in one room and less in another, tell us. We will build the visit around what your home actually needs. We bring all the supplies.

Deep cleaning vs regular cleaning, line by line

Regular cleaning keeps a house level. A deep clean resets it. A recurring visit handles what you touch and look at every day, the floors, counters, sinks, toilets and mirrors. A deep clean goes after the parts that get skipped because nobody has time for them weekly, like the dust ridge on top of the baseboards, the grease film on the cabinet doors above the stove, and the grit packed into the window tracks. Our recurring maid service covers the left column on every visit. A deep clean covers both columns in one appointment, which is why it takes longer and costs more.

How often should you deep clean your house?

The honest answer is that it depends on who lives there and what heats the place. Two adults in a newer Anchorage condo with no pets can go a year between deep cleans. A Fairbanks family with three kids, a dog and a wood stove needs one every three to four months, because soot and fine ash settle on everything while the house stays sealed up through -40F. Spring breakup is the other trigger. Mud and grit come in on boots for weeks, and once the light comes back in March it shows every fingerprint and dusty window you ignored all winter. If you are not sure, look at the top of a door frame and drag a finger across it. That tells you more than a calendar does.

  • Pets that shed, or a cat box: every 3 to 4 months
  • Wood stove or oil-fired heat: every 3 to 4 months, plus one after the heating season ends
  • Kids under 10: every 4 to 6 months
  • Two adults, no pets, forced air heat: once or twice a year
  • Allergies or asthma in the house: every 3 months, with attention to vents and blinds
  • Before or after guests, a move or a remodel: whenever it happens

Between deep cleans, most of our clients keep a recurring schedule and rotate add-on deep cleans through the house one zone at a time, so the oven gets done in March and the blinds get done in June. We also handle seasonal Alaska prep for the freeze-up and breakup transitions, which are the two weeks a year when Alaska homes get dirtiest fastest.

How much does a deep clean cost in Alaska?

Care.com puts the average starting house cleaning cost in Anchorage at $27.19 per hour as of July 2026. That is a starting rate for standard cleaning, and a deep clean runs above it because it takes more hours and more hands. We do not publish a flat price for deep cleaning, and you should be careful with any company that quotes you one over the phone without asking a single question. A 2,000 square foot house that has been cleaned every two weeks for a year and a 2,000 square foot house that has not been touched since the last tenant left are the same size and nowhere near the same job.

  • Square footage, and how many of those feet are bathrooms
  • How long it has been since the last full cleaning
  • Pets, and how much hair is in the house
  • Wood stove or fireplace soot on walls and ceilings
  • Whether you want the oven and refrigerator interiors included
  • Clutter on the surfaces, since we clean around what is out rather than putting your things away for you
  • Hard water buildup on glass shower doors and fixtures

Carpets are the one thing we hand off

We do not shampoo or steam clean carpets. We vacuum thoroughly, we get the edges and under the furniture we can move, and we treat spots on hard surfaces, but wet carpet extraction takes equipment we do not run. If your carpets need it, ask us and we will refer you to a local company that does it well. We would rather send you down the street than do a mediocre job on your living room and charge you for it.

Book the deep clean first, then decide about recurring

A deep clean is the best first visit we can make. It clears the backlog so a normal recurring visit can actually keep up, and it gives you a look at how we work before you commit to a schedule. You get the same named technicians on every visit after that, all background checked, with the company licensed, bonded and insured. We use pet-safe and family-safe products, and we walk the house with you before we leave so you can point at anything we missed. If you notice something after we go, call within 24 hours and we come back and re-clean it. If you are cleaning a house you are leaving, ask about move-out cleaning instead, which is built around empty rooms and landlord checklists. We serve house cleaning services in Anchorage and Fairbanks the same way, starting with questions about your house.

Deep Clean questions, answered

How much does it cost?
Every home and space is different, so we give you a clear, upfront estimate with no surprise fees. We lead with the quality of the work, not the lowest price.
What do you bring?
Everything. Our team arrives with all the cleaning supplies and equipment needed to get the job done, and we use pet-safe, family-safe products by default.
Are your cleaners insured and background-checked?
Yes. Every HD Clean team member is background-checked, licensed, bonded, and insured. We only send people we'd welcome into our own homes.
What if I'm not happy with the clean?
Our work is 100% satisfaction guaranteed. If we didn't meet your expectations, please notify us within 24 hours of your cleaning and we will gladly return to re-clean any unsatisfactory areas.
What is normally included in a deep clean?
A deep clean includes everything in a standard cleaning plus the surfaces that regular visits skip: baseboards, door frames, blinds, ceiling fans, light fixtures, air vents, window tracks, cabinet fronts, and scrubbed shower grout. Most companies, including us, also move light furniture to clean under and behind it. Oven and refrigerator interiors are usually add-ons rather than automatic, so confirm them when you book.
How much should I expect to pay for a deep clean?
Care.com lists the average starting house cleaning cost in Anchorage at $27.19 per hour as of July 2026, and deep cleaning sits above that starting rate because it takes more time and more cleaners. The size of the house matters less than its condition, the number of bathrooms, and how long it has been since the last thorough cleaning. We quote each home after asking about those things rather than guessing from square footage alone.
What does a regular house cleaning include?
Regular cleaning covers the daily-use surfaces: vacuuming and mopping floors, wiping counters and appliance exteriors, cleaning sinks, toilets, tubs and mirrors, dusting reachable surfaces, making beds, and taking out the trash. It maintains a house that is already clean and usually runs on a weekly, biweekly or monthly schedule. It does not include grout scrubbing, blind slats, vents or appliance interiors.
How often should you deep clean your house?
Once or twice a year for two adults with no pets, and every three to four months for a household with pets, kids or a wood stove. In Alaska the two natural triggers are the end of the heating season, when soot and fine ash have settled everywhere, and spring breakup, when weeks of mud and grit come in on boots.

What we don't do, and who we'll point you to. We'd rather do one thing really well than do a lot of things halfway. So when a job falls outside home cleaning, we won't fake it. We'll point you to a trusted local pro who handles that work every day.
